Four Principals Named for Lamar CISD Schools

At the February board meeting, Risa Crosby was named the inaugural principal at Adriane Gray Elementary, which will open in fall 2023.

Risa Crosby is in her 18th year of education at Lamar CISD. She has previously served as a teacher, math facilitator, assistant principal and currently serves the principal of Long Elementary School.

Ms. Crosby received her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and earned her Master of Education degree from the University of Houston-Victoria.

Additionally, at the March board meeting, Amey Frazier was named the principal at Long Elementary School, Amy Araguz as the principal of Foster High School, and Brian Forshee as the principal at Fulshear High School for the upcoming 2023-2024 year.

Amey Frazier will begin her 16th year in education this fall. She has served as a primary and intermediate teacher, dyslexia specialist, literacy coach, academic facilitator, and most recently as an assistant principal at Velasquez Elementary School the last three years.

Ms. Frazier received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Houston-Downtown and her master's in Educational Leadership from Houston Baptist University.

Amy Araguz has 22 years of experience in education, and 16 of those have been in Lamar CISD.  Prior to her current role as the associate principal of Foster High School, she began her educational career at Terry High School as a teacher and the head of the English Department.  While at Terry High School, she transitioned to the leadership and administrative roles of instructional coordinator and then assistant principal.

Ms. Araguz also served as the Dean of Instruction at El Campo High School and was named the 2020 Region 3 Assistant Principal of the Year. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University and Master of Educational Administration from the University of Houston-Victoria.

Brian Forshee has 19 years of experience in education, and 17 of those have been in Lamar CISD.  Mr. Forshee began his career at Round Rock High School as a teacher and coach. He later moved to Houston ISD before transitioning to Lamar CISD where he was a teacher and coach at Terry High School and Reading Junior High School.  Mr. Forshee began his administrative experience as an assistant principal at Foster High School before his current position as associate principal of George Ranch High School.

Mr. Forshee received his undergraduate degree from Texas State University and his Master of Educational Administration from Lamar University.
