Texas Commissioner of Education Mike Morath announced Friday he will grant waivers to school systems in Houston area counties within Gov. Greg Abbott’s state of disaster declaration.
As a result of the waivers for two missed instructional day, school systems in disaster counties that missed one or two days this week due to flooding will not have to make up those days on the remaining school calendar.
