The Special Education Department in collaboration with the Strengthening Families Initiative is pleased to announce, A Night Under the Stars, a prom for our students with special needs. The event will be held at Safari Texas Ranch on April 29 beginning at 6:00 p.m.
“I am overjoyed and excited about the upcoming special education prom." Dr. Kanesha Waites, Director of Behavior Support and Services, shared. "I don’t know how you really explain the feeling of a cup running over – but my cup is literally running over. I am looking forward to the community response and outpouring of support for our very first special education prom."
Clothing donations for the event will be accepted at the ATP Special Needs Center, 710 Houston St., Richmond, TX 77469 between the hours of 9:00 a.m - 3:00 p.m., Monday - Friday until April 28.
Special Needs students will have the opportunity to select their prom attire at a Prom Pop-up shop. The goal of the pop-up shop is to provide students with the opportunity to have access to clothing and accessories that they may not normally be able to purchase in time for prom. Details on the pop-up shop will be announced at a later date.
