The District is planning to move forward with a Digital Scholars Program, pending student interest, state funding and legislative actions related to virtual instruction.
The Digital Scholars Program will be an application-based virtual learning opportunity for a limited number of 9th-12th grade students who meet the eligibility criteria.
The instruction in this program will include live, direct teaching, as well as independent, self-paced assignments through Canvas or the Texas Virtual School Network (TXVSN).
Current Lamar CISD students in 8th - 11th grades are now able to access the application for the Digital Scholars Program through Skyward Family Access. Students who are eligible and interested in the program can apply for consideration through Skyward until midnight on May 31, 2021.
As a reminder, the District is not offering a Pre-K – 12 virtual learning option next school year.
The Digital Scholars Program is not a response to COVID-19 and the District will work to serve our immunocompromised students on a case-by-case basis through homebound services or the TXVSN Online Schools program.
