Lamar CISD has named Henva Medlow as the District’s first Director of Leadership Development. In her new position, Medlow will develop, implement and coordinate talent and leadership development activities for Lamar CISD staff. She will also manage the District’s leadership development cohort process and District-wide leadership coaching.
Medlow is a graduate of the University of Houston and earned her masters at the University of Houston-Victoria. She has been the principal of Carter Elementary since it opened in the fall of 2018 and was recently recognized as the 2021 Elementary Principal of the Year.
Joining the Lamar CISD family in 2013, Medlow has served as principal of both Williams and Carter elementary schools. Prior to taking the helm at Williams, she served the school as assistant principal. She also previously served as an assistant principal, science specialist and teacher in Houston ISD.
