Two Lamar CISD 3rd-graders were selected as winners in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s Western Heritage Community Challenge decorating contest.
More than 10,000 students entered with only 150 winners chosen.
Ray Elementary School’s Isabella Serrano and Long Elementary School’s Iliana Valdez were both rewarded for their skills. The students received a blue ribbon and four tickets to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Winning entries will be displayed in the NRG Center, Hall B, near Miss Moo’s Barn, March 9-18.
