Five girls and four boys from Lamar CISD schools will compete Friday and Saturday in Garland, each vying for the championship at the State Wrestling Tournament.
Loren Braun (girls, 102 lbs.), Naomi Minturn (girls, 110 lbs.), Alexandra Sanchez (girls, 119 lbs.) will all represent George Ranch High School at the State Tournament.
Foster High’s Sophia Arevalo (girl, 215 lbs.) and Lamar Consolidated High’s Sara Gomez (girls, 165 lbs.) will represent their schools at the tournament.
George Ranch’s Jakob Marine (boys, 120 lbs.), Josh Marine (boys, 126 lbs.), Corey Chartier (boys, 145 lbs.) and Garrett Brineman (boys, 182 lbs.) will represent the Longhorns in Garland.
Each of the athletes will compete against 11 other students from across the state for the title in their weight class.
