Huggins Elementary is in its second successful year of WatchDOGS (Dads of Great Students), a national initiative designed to engage men, inspire children and enhance the educational environment by having fathers spend a day at their child's school.
Dozens of dads have eagerly volunteered to spend a day on campus, patrolling the grounds and interacting with the students and teachers. Dads enjoy observing their kids in the classroom environment, and Principal Doug Waddill says students benefit from having the added male presence.
