Ray Elementary 2nd-grade teacher Catherine Barta received a surprise visit from OfficeMax as part of the company's "A Day Made Better" program.
The one-day event that awards more than 1,000 teachers with $1,000 in school supplies, and brings attention to the issue of teacher-funded classrooms. Among Barta's gifts were treats for her classroom and an HD Kindle Fire.
Since its inception, OfficeMax has surprised more than 6,700 teachers and donated $8.85 million in supplies to classrooms across the country.
