The Rosenberg Rotary Club will be giving out dictionaries to all of our 3rd grade students this Thursday. This is an annual event that the Rotary Club does every year for all of the 3rd graders in Lamar CISD. We appreciate their donations to our students and will gratefully accept them.
Next Thursday, October 20th, all of our 4th grade students will be attending the groundbreaking ceremonies for the San Felipe de Austin historical site. A museum will be built on the site location and because our school is named after Stephen F. Austin we were chosen to be part of the ceremonies. Our students will lead the Pledge of Allegiance and participate in a number of activities to kick off the day long affair. Senator Kolkhorst will be the keynote speaker and there will be a number of state dignitaries present. Bryan McAuley of the Texas Historical Commission has coordinated this event for our students and the entire expense has been taken care of, including a tee shirt. Our 4th graders were selected to participate because their social studies curriculum is Texas History. We feel very honored to be asked to participate in the special ceremony. It will be a very relevant field trip and the students will see Texas history at the actual site.
