Extended Day begins this week for grade 3 and next week for grade 4. 5th grade Math starts next week. If your child needs to attend, a letter will be sent home to inform you. This letter will also ask for how your child will be getting home after Extended Day as students will be released at 3:30 and there will not be any bus service. The time for Extended Day will be from 2:45-3:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays (4th grade writing only). Some students will be attending one day while others may attend multiple days depending on what subjects are being taught. If you have any questions, please contact the school.
The last day to purchase a yearbook is Wednesday February 25th. 
This past Monday, all staff members attended a district in-service. The principals and assistant principals attended a workshop by Dr. Thomas Guskey of the University of Kentucky. He discussed grading, report cards, and assessments for students. He mentioned that in Kentucky report cards do not contain grades but parents are notified at each grading period if students meet standards for a specific grade level. I don’t know if we are ready to move away from our current grading system as most parents are comfortable with it. However, as education evolves into future, who knows what new changes are in store for our students.
