As we head into May, the calendar is loaded with activities and events. Field Day is this Friday and we welcome parents to attend and even participate in the operation of this fun event. We have scheduled Field Day earlier in the month of May than in the past to try to take advantage of the weather being a little cooler. Students can get very hot and overheated after doing all of the activities that will be scheduled during the day. We look forward to the students having a fun-filled day of games and excitement and remember to bring your quarters to vote TOMORROW (fill the jugs in the lobby area) for the pie throwing contest!!!
We also have two musical events coming up in the next few weeks. On Monday, May 5th we have our Fiesta Concert with our 2nd graders performing at 1:15 and 7:00 pm. Then on Tuesday, May 13th, we have our Spring Choir Performance also scheduled at 1:00 and 7:00. Come out and enjoy these student performances.
This year Austin has again been designated as a “No School for Hate” campus. Mrs. Willis, our counselor, has worked very hard to ensure that we continue to receive this designation. She planned many activities as part of the process of maintaining the “No School for Hate” designation. We are very proud of our students and staff for their participation in this prestigious award.
The Austin Elementary office hours June 9th-25th will be 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday. The office will be closed from June 25 until July 21.
