Next week is our final round of the state-mandated STAAR testing for grades 3-5. Third and Fourth grade will be taking the math test on Tuesday and the reading test on Wednesday. Fifth grade will be taking their science test on Wednesday. Please be sure your child gets the appropriate rest so that they will have their full focus for these important tests.

Our new PTO Board has been selected for the coming 2014-2015 school year. These folks give so much of their time and effort in trying to make Austin a better school. I look forward to working with the new Board in the coming year. We are looking forward to having a great year.

Our annual Kindergarten Egg Drop will be this Thursday at 9:30 in the back of the school. This is always a fun event and I enjoy seeing the excitement of the kindergarteners when their egg survives the drop from the school roof. I am hoping for warmer weather and less wind as yours truly will be the individual on the roof dropping all of the entries. Good luck to all!!!
