Graduation exercises for Foster High School's Class of 2019 will be held Saturday, June 1, at 10:00 a.m. at the Merrell Center in Katy.
Haley Etzler is the Valedictorian for the Class of 2019 at Foster High School.
The daughter of Leroy and Diana Etzler, she will attend the University of Texas, participating in the Honors in Advanced Nutritional Sciences (HANS) program. She intends on becoming a Physician Assistant.
While at Foster, Haley was a member of the Principal’s Student Advisory Group, National Honor Society, AP Ambassadors, the varsity softball team, Green Club, and the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). Outside of school, Haley was an active member and Vacation Bible School volunteer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served at Gigi’s Playhouse as a Down Syndrome Achievement Center volunteer.
Haley longs to utilize her role as a Physician Assistant to help bring adequate medical care to those in need.
Reflecting on her high school experience, Haley recalls her growth not only as a student, but as an individual, due to the support she received from her teachers and peers. She advises the Class of 2019 to remember that there is no limit to what they can achieve.
Grace Byers is the Salutatorian for the Class of 2019 at Foster High School.
She is the daughter of Wayne and Deborah Byers and will attend Emory University in Atlanta, majoring in Finance and History. Grace plans on attending law school after receiving her undergraduate degree to pursue a career as a merger and acquisitions attorney.
While at Foster, Grace was a member of the National Honor Society, co-captain of the varsity golf team and held multiple leadership positions as she participated with the AP Ambassadors. Grace is also an avid volunteer with child welfare and health, animal welfare and peer tutoring.
Grace aspires to build a career in the corporate world and prove that woman have a place in business.
She advised her classmates to pursue the things that make them happy regardless of social norms.
