The Briscoe 8th grade girls A basketball team won on Friday night against Lamar JH and George JH. The Lady Eagles beat George JH 32-17. Leading scorers were Leea Dempsey and Maddie Maves with 6 points each. Haley Etzler and Elissa Babba were right behind them with 4 points each and Lauren Sulak and Allison Juenger with 3 points each. The leading defenders were Erin Farrow and Haley Etzler. The Lady Eagles beat Lamar JH 35-17 with Leea Dempsey leading the team with 16 points. Elissa Babba put up 7 points and Haley Etzler had 6 points. The leading defenders in that game were Leea Dempsey and Elissa Babba. The Eagles improve to 3-1 on the season.
The 8th Grade B Lady Eagle’s basketball team won both tournament games over the weekend. The girls took home a 26-9 win over George Jr. High and a 31-24 win over Lamar Jr High. Leading scorers for both games were Kalli Reavis, Sierra Toman, Vanetia Williams, Kaylei White, Samiyah Guerrero, Tola Ajayi, Grace Udebezi, and Jasmine Houston. Defensive players of the games were Erica Bertsch, Kenzie Stratman, and Katie Parker.
The Briscoe Lady Eagles 7th grade basketball B team participated in the Lamar CISD Tip Off Classic. The Lady Eagles went 1-1 losing to George Jr. High, 8-17 and wining their second game to Lamar Jr. High 16-10. Scoring for the Lady Eagles were Arionah Gordon, Alexa Conlan, Hannah Tawil, Karrington Searles, Jaliya McCall, and Elise Cheramie. Defensive players for the Lady Eagles were Ajene Robijeux, Arionah Gordon, Karrington Searles, and Elise Cheramie.
The Briscoe 7th grade Lady Eagles A team split games in the LCISD Tip Off Classic on Friday. The girls beat George Junior High 17-8. The leading scorer was Jada Morrow with 6 points. Also scoring for the Lady Eagles were Briana Creery with 4 points, Lia Castillo, Maya Garcia, and Keely Castillo with 2 points each, and Angelina Duerto with 1 point. Defensive players of the game were Janella Alfred and Erin Coco. The Lady Eagles lost to Lamar Junior High in the second game of the tournament with a score of 9-22. The leading scorer was Jada Morrow with 7 points. Alexis Morin scored 2 points. Defensive players of the game were Lia Castillo and Maya Garcia.
