One of George Junior High's Rangers works hard to perfect his drone before the class flight.
Recently, our George Junior High students partnered with ATOM (Achieving Together with Optimistic Mentoring) and were able to learn about, build and fly drones alongside Terry High School students.
ATOM's intention is to foster a unique collaborative, nurturing relationship between older and younger students interested in pursuing STEM. ATOM is supported by WIT (Workforce Industry Training) and provides STEM experiences to students. The ATOM Program provides WIT members from Terry High School an opportunity to give back by interacting with and mentoring younger students. High school students are able to engage those younger than them in academic activities that impassion these students to stay focused on a strong STEM path.
